I use the Runabove Sanbox since 6 months ago, but yesterday they were rebooted, and I remember that as a “Sandbox” they did not come with 99% uptime SLA. So I decided to rebuilt it from CentOS to Windows Server 2012.
After rebuilt and enabling the Remote Desktop function, there’s a notification in the Desktop that he Windows License is Trial and will be expired after 180 days.
We can keep using the Windows Server 2012 from Runabove by upgrading the license to the available type to upgrade, such Server Standard and Datacenter license.
To see the available license for upgrading, open the Windows Powershell and type :
- DISM /online /Get-CurrentEdition to check the current version
- DISM /online /Get-TargetEditions to check the available option for upgrading
After you have decided the license for upgrading, use the following command to upgrade your Windows installations
1 2 3 |
DISM /online /Set-Edition:<Version> /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEULA Reboot the Windows twice, and look at the Control Panel - System, the Activation status of the Windows. |
